About this story: Ten Good Rules (Exodus 19:16–20:21)
Three months after leaving Egypt, the people camped at Mount Sinai. The mountain shook with thunder and smoke, and God spoke ten commandments: how to treat God, and how to treat each other. The people were so frightened they asked Moses to do the talking.
About 8 minutes: 4 choices and 2 ways-of-knowing stops. Kids stand at the foot of the mountain, then try the rules on an ordinary day: honoring parents, telling the truth, and wanting what someone else has. Calm mode softens the mountain. The commandments themselves are marked “Words from the Bible.”
